Representatives of A. P. Moller Capital paid a courtesy visit to the Commission on 8th February 2018 at the Commission’s office in Abuja. They were received by the Management team led by Mr. Mike Ohiani- Director, Public Private Partnership Resource Department (P3RD) representing the Acting Director General, Engr. Chidi K. C. Izuwah Snr.

A.P. Moller Capital is an affiliate of A.P. Moller Holding and was established to manage stand alone funds to invest in infrastructure in emerging markets majorly focusing on Africa. The visiting team was led by Mr. Lars Reno Jakobsen, a Senior Partner.

During the discussion, Mr. Ohiani stressed the need for an immediate huge infrastructural investment in Nigeria. He noted that Nigeria would require an annual investment of US$20 – US$30 billion to shore up its infrastructure deficit.

Responding, the team leader appreciated the effort of the Commission in ensuring that Nigeria becomes an infrastructure sufficient nation and expressed their readiness to invest a total of US$200 million in the transport and energy sectors in Nigeria. Mr Jakobsen pointed out that the purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the PPP pipeline of projects with a view to identify the projects that have attained significant milestones and decide which they will be interested in financing.

The Director, Contract Compliance Department, Mr. Mohammed A. Bamalli once again welcomed the team to the Commission and appreciated their investment proposal. He introduced the Web Portal (first of its kind in the world) to the team. He highlighted the proposed projects in their sectors of interest and encouraged them to visit the web portal for more detailed information.
