Maryam Umar is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria with over 18 years of legal experience and 13 years of progressive expertise in Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) at the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC).

As Chief of Staff to the Director General and Head of the PPP Special Projects Unit, she provides strategic leadership and  cross functional coordination of the Director General’s policies and initiatives as well as structuring special projects under the DG.

She holds an LL.B from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; a Barrister at Law (B.L.) from the Nigerian Law School; and an MBA from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom. She is a certified PPP Professional (CP3P) and has completed executive trainings at prestigious
